This aircraft came to a sad end in 1963 when it was ‘licked to death’ in a field in Spain. On the return journey from Spain, the pilot became lost and low on fuel. Making a precautionary landing to obtain more fuel, the take off was unsuccessful and the prop damaged. Leaving the plane to obtain a replacement propellor, the plane received the attention of the other inhabitant of the field, a curious bull. Needless to say, the plane was unflyable after his attentions.
The plane returned via road and was last heard of in Hampshire. So a couple of questions, where is it located now and how are the wings of Austers connected to the fuselage?

The trail goes cold with me at W&R 15,… HHU still listed as in store with Crofton Aeroplane Services at Southampton December 1991.
Anyone out there with an edition of W&R 16!
I can confirm that the aircraft does still belong to Crofton although to the son of the previous owner and is in store for eventual restoration.;)
