Have to say i’m surprised at the lack of feedback so far, perhaps your all still recovering from the heat. Personally i thought it was an excellent two days and hats off to the pilots and ground staff who must have worked in sometimes extremely hot and uncomfortable conditions.
Highlights were many. The three Hawker biplanes, the Skyraider trio and solo Seafire, the wonderful sounding Ryan PT-22 pair, and at last i have seen and heard the Mew Gull for real… what a noisy and quick little performer that is.
But a special mention to the Yak jockeys, and especially the Polikarpov I-16 owner for bringing over such rare gems. How ironic also that it flew on probably the hottest two days of the year when during wartime the temperature and climate would of been so different.
Also with no B25’s etc bringing up the rear, that had to be one of the fastest Balbo’s ever.
