The centre section, main planes and tailplane (all metal) from an Avro Anson may be available in the near future.

Any interested party please get in touch.

Can anyone shed any light on which Anson is possibly being broken up.
I can think of one candidate which I know has had a pretty poorly fuselage for a long time now which I would be very sorry to see being broken after a long battle to stay alive.

YAM – is there anybody there?

Is there anybody from YAM on the Forum who can comment or who has a hotline to the powers that be there?

You are correct LL, our wings/spars etc are in pretty good fettle.

Anon, try Yorkshire Air Museum – their T21 has had its spars cut at both ends, and I know yours is intact….

I would have been interested but I jumped at the last set of metal anson wings looking for a home because I thought “they” were the last chance to get some – smiles,

Interestingly, had they not had the wing centre-section cut into three by sawing it off flush with the fuselage, I wouldnt have been able to easily containerise them for the trip home, and the costs would have probably ruled it out.

I suspect your set, both intact and perhaps less corroded are far better and more worthwhile than mine, and would provide a possible mark I flying restoration opportunity?

Perhaps becoming one of only two flying in the world? surely an interest to someone in the UK/Canada or even Australia? (Perhaps Bill Reid could production line them?)

It seems particularily sad that the Anson T.21 prototype lost it’s wings and tailfeathers to Australia and here we have almost a carbon copy of those parts becoming available !

What happened to the fuselage of this airframe in the end?

Anson Wings

NOT the wings in the advert for the Mk.1 Anson.

These are from a late Anson which may be parted for spares as most of the airframe is in such a dilapidated condition.

We are just sounding out whether there are enough interested parties out there to make this viable so that very little, if any, of the aircraft goes to waste.

So far, takers have been found for the cockpit/cabin, engines & props and wheels & tyres. Apart from some smaller parts it just remains to find a home for the wings, tailplane and undercarriage.

Why stop at just the wings?

This has been for sale for a month or so now.
