Not that anyone probably cares, but the demolition guys have been in and trashed the Sage Aircraft Aeronautical Corporation of Great Britain’s factory site, just off Lincoln Road in Peterborough leaving at the moment just the iconic water tower and some building ends. Luckily the Water Tower is listed, but if the vandals get in?……

Sorry to hear that. As a Peterborough lad, those buildings were familiar to me. And the book was an excellent read. Plane to Plane by Martyn Chorlton.

Very sad – but got to recognise, I suppose, that if no use can be found for all those factory buildings what can be done but demolish them?
Not sure of the value of preserving the water tower on it’s own though.
