Post your WW1 aircraft pics!

In the spirit of recent threads (Sea Fury etc), let’s see your photos of World War 1 aircraft!

At the beginning of the year, I did a massive clear-out of the garage just before it got demolished, and in doing so unearthed a smattering of photos of WW1 replicas.

So, here they are!

Thorpe Park Fokker Dr.1 – and some small child, whose identity I do not know…

Not sure what the RFC-marked aircraft is behind, though.

I’m fairly certain this is the La Ferte Alais-based Fokker Dr.1

Great thread! I’m a bit of a sucker for Great War aircraft, with their fragility, beauty and rarity. Here are a few gems from Down Under.

Firstly at The Australian War Memorial:

AWM SE5a and Albatros.

AWM Airco DH9A.

AWM Avro 504K A3-4.

AWM Pfaltz D.XII.

The Pfaltz is hung right next to the cafe – the perfect place for a latte!

One of the most poignant items is the control column from Manfred von Richtofen’s triplane, which he was holding when he received his fatal wound.

AWM Richtofen's control column.

A couple of weeks ago I went to my local museum at Bull Creek, Perth. A couple of tidy replicas there:

P1080018

And almost on topic, not a Fighter, but a Tourer!

Love that flying BrisFit shot, Mark12 🙂

Also really like the Pup. Aside from the Shuttleworth example (and possibly the one in the photos), are there any more originals that fly?

Is it still at Wallop? I remember seeing this flying a lot one Summer.

Nice! Whose is the Pup? Is that the one that was restored/rebuilt a couple of years ago?
