Hi all, I’m new here and i’m looking for some help in ID’ing a couple of wheels I’ve been asked to sell for a friend. I have no idea what planes they are off, he believes the smaller ones may be off of a Spitfire, but no clue whatsoever on the larger wheel. Any help in identifying them would be greatly appreciated, as would any potential ideas on valuations.
The smaller tyres are marked 24 x 7.25-12 and the larger tyre, 32 x 10.00-15

Thanks alot,
Paul

The smaller pair of 3-spoke wheels look to be single seat vampire.

Hi Paul, welcome to the forum.
Just to expand on Bruce’s advice to look for numbers. If they are, as is likely, Dunlop wheels you want a four figure number preceeded by the letters “AH” on each wheel eg “AH1234”. You may also find “AHO” numbers which are sub assemblies.
These numbers will be stamped on the actual wheels (the hubs) and not on the tyres.

The smaller ones look like Vampire to me – F3, FB5 etc. Look on the castings for numbers, and we can confirm.

The larger wheel is Fairey Firefly, complete with the U/C door section.
The smaller three spoke jobbies do look like Spit to me, but there are better people here to confirm it.
