Ground crew place on Hurricane R4118 at Shoreham

Ground crew place up for grabs for the Shoreham airshow

——————————————————————————–

I head the ground crew for Peter Vachers Mk1 Hurricane (R4118). She is the only flying example of a Hurricane that took part in the Battle of Britain.

The Shoreham airshow will be on August 21-22nd and I will be raffling a ground crew place for the Saturday 21st.

The raffle will be run and drawn by a company called Raffleit.com.

Tickets will cost £2:50 and can be bought online.

All proceeds will go to the War Child charity – the Raffelit comission.

The winner will get to help with Preflight checks, fuelling, cleaning… and some chock pulling plus a few other duties. Also live side access to see the show from.

There will of course be conditions, but all will become clear from the web site once up and running.

Raffle web page is now up and running. Its address is

There’s been a sensible re-naming of the Facebook group I see!

‘The most original Hurricane in the world’ mmm

R4118 is my fave example of the type, but you only need to read Peter Vacher’s own book on the aircraft to know that it has extensive new material incorporated into it.

My thoughts as well, I made the tailplane for that aircraft in a previous job!

That link isn’t working, but I found the group anyway.
