DH Dragon look a like

I bought this photo the other day. Taken at Tirana. At first i thought it was a DH Dragon in the hangar. But on closer inspection, i dont think it is. It has Italian markings. Help please.

🙁 Sorry I was wrong, the exhaust pipe is on the wrong side for a Guzzi (or Benelli) so I think now it’s a Gilera Sirio.

Breda aircraft on the net

In the latter (1920-1945) there’s a nice side view of I-ARIA showing the Colombo engines

And I forgot the Breda 44 was in the Less Common Transport aircraft thread

🙂 No it’s a branch of “Wot Truck”. I think it’s a 7. 1/2 ton Fiat 634N.

The Breda 44 had Gipsy Six engines or home grown Colombos The caption (I think) says that the Colombo motor is set higher with respect to the lower wing. The thrust lines being the same. This last bit is my addition.

Well it looks like there were some variations on the theme! If you look at pictures one and two on my second link, you will see the apparent differences in engine locations. Because I can not read italian, I do not know what the caption below the photos mean, but I guess the one with the higher set engines would be the one with the Colombo S63 engines.

Thank you Galdri, The only photo of a Breada Ba44 i could find in Janes 1938 had the engine above the lower wing.
