Welcome to the new NEAM Thread!
This is where you’ll be able to find updates about what is happening at NEAM: the latest restoration work taking place and what events are taking place plus more!
After discussion with the mods, it was agreed that this thread would be for all things NEAM, BUT not a thread to discuss our Vulcan XL319. It was agreed that the thread for XL319 would be the one showing XL319 tipping back in January.
The “new” XL319 thread may be found here:

Since NEAM has now combined with two other museums, a new thread for the “North East Land, Sea and Air Museum” (NELSAM ) has been started by the museum, to show the activities from all branches of this new organisation.
The new thread can be found here – http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?132444-North-East-Land-Sea-and-Aircraft-Museum-Diary
I will request this thread be closed, and all future comments and updates should be aimed at the new thread.

They are parts of the Trident, awaiting their turn for work before final re-assembly.

What are the aircraft remains in Martin’s photos?

There’s been lots going on at NELSAM, but I’m not sure anyone is remembering this thread to update it. The Facebook page gets posts almost every day. On the back of the main hangar, an extension was built for the tram collection. This is three tracks wide, and runs the length of the main hangar, and I think it was planned to have a workshop at the far end.
The Trident has had significant restoration inside and just recently the exterior has been primed and I think is starting its top colour coats.
The Military vehicle collection ( moved from Newcastle ) is in a Romney hut built along side the existing Romney ( there are probably photos further back in the thread ).
I’ve not had the opportunity to get down there recently, so have no photos of my own to share.
This should link to the Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/groups/385765351485003/

Could be because they are in the new building at the side of the main display hall
Didn’t see in there, thanks for the info.

Yes, the trams were moved into the new building some time ago.

Just a quick update – what’s going to happen when (if…) they build the newly announced International Advanced Manufacturing Park (IAMP):
From the map it looks like it’ll be smack on top of the NELSAM site…or has the Echo got it wrong??

I suggested doing a carrier deck like the Fleet Air Arm museum for all the Sea Venom and Naval Heli’s.

Hello i am back!
there has been some more activity at the NELSAM with trams… i think the planes are being put aside for a moment while other equipment is delivered;

I like the yellow and blue tram, it came from blackpool i think, never have been there.
there is also a free open day going on the 11 August for everyone to see the trams and transport’.
thank you

For anyone on Facebook, there are quite regular updates as to the changes at the museum on the new NELSAM page ( The old NEAM one has or is being closed ). Just search Facebook for NELSAM.

How’s the Vulcan repaint coming along? It hasn’t really been a summer for painting outdoors so I can’t imagine that has helped matters!
Quite slow Steve but thats due to the weather and other work which has been carried out on her, the underside has had about 50% painted in white – which looks excellent! Best of checking the Avro Vulcan XL319 thread here: http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=96975
Tom, i cant remember, regarding the Canberra, did i send the close up images of the decals to yourself/Paul ? its all of the exterior ones that are required for if she gets a re paint, if not, i still have them at home, if you can PM me should you need them
Didn’t send them to me, I believe we already have images & position of all the decals so they shouldn’t be needed. Thanks but no thanks.
