The BBMF Lancaster has just transited to the north east of Haverhill heading north, presumably heading back to base from Southend. It looked great, but unusually the gear was still down, hope all is well.

BBMF Lanc unlucky at Southend
Undercarriage problems at Southend curtailed my flying in the Lancaster in 2006. At the time she lost the tailwheel shimmy damper which caused an awful vibration through the aircraft on landing. We removed the damper and got it in the Hurricane for transit back to Con for overhaul, but the ability to quickly turn the damper around wasn’t in place at short notice. Nice flight though, down from Liverpool via my parents house in Cheshire (they were in the garden waving) before arriving in Essex.
Good days.

I thought I had read somewhere she had an undercarriage problem at Southend, so I assume she transited back with it down & will be sorted back at base
