43 years ago today I was a teenage apprentice preparing for a meeting at my local pub.
At the meeting it was decided to form the Midland Aircraft Preservation Society and twentyfive people paid a small subscription to become “founder members” – I was No. 1 (of course 🙂 )
The start of what is now the Midland A.M.

TO, I spoke to Peter later – no problem.
You disappeared quick, I was going to say I agreed with you on the last subject debated.
I thought it best to get out in one piece!! 😀
Only joking – family BBQ to attend!
As for the debate I’m not sure what difference my comments will have really made! 😉

To be fair Roger, when you started, there were only Wrights, Farman and Antoinettes to preserve! 😀

Peter, the original idea was to form a Coventry branch of the Shuttleworth Veteran Aeroplane Society but the SVAS weren’t keen.
