I wonder why the film producers gathered up the RAFM collection at Henlow, but didnt use them? Perhaps they were not permited to reconfigure the a/c, or didnt want a genuine 109E next to the Buchons?

Apparently yes, the engine WAS run on the Stuka, but getting the beast back into the air was too costly.

re;
you missed the point, it appears they were rounded up and earmarked for use in the film but were not used. Didnt they start restoring the Stuka, but the models were much easier?

Possibly because the owners of said Hurricane and Spitfire wouldn’t let them!

They used quite few static airframes, and started restoring the Stuka. I cant understand why they didnt use Hurricane P2617?
Or Spitfire X4590?

If that!

Bit off topic but on one of my rare trips to the UK recently I stumbled upon what is claimed to be one of the Stuka models used in the film:

Probably because:
1) A solitary Bf109E/Heinkel etc was not enough.
2) At the time it would have been too difficult to restore them to flight.
Great clip, though.
