A third airframe has been acquired and will arrive at the Great Oakley workshops on the 28th May to join her two sisters Mk V “HTE and Mk 3 “KEX”. As to the Proctor itself it really quite outstanding condition. As we know to restore one to flying condition the whole airframe has to come apart, but this airframe will require the minimum, if any, repair/replacement of major structures. For example, the centre section has already been re-worked using modern materials ( ie, Aerodux glue ) The fuselage, tail empenage, centre section structures are solid, no rot, worms or visible failures of joints/fixings due to accident.
The engine and propellor are in place the engine nicely oiled internally and the oil tank full. Nothing missing, Mags, pump, gen, all present. Cockpit fixings, panels, seats and controls, including cable runs, all present and correct. The central instrument panel ( Blind, night or main ) is the only missing item! The Proctor has the three logbooks, Engine, prop and airframe.
Formerly RAF 1944-53 as RM169 then G-ANVY and SE-BCA on export to Sweden in 1955. We are looking to get this one rebuilt as well. More importantly she will serve as a great reference point for our Mk V which was purchased as a large pile of disassembled, the two aircraft being identical in construction. Will post pictures once she has arrived from Scandanavia.

One Proctuka, painted red and white, was used in the opening scenes of an episode of The Persuaders, ‘The Long Goodbye’. It was used as an aircraft that had crashed.

Nice article on the “Proctor Doctor” in the July 2010 Flypast, perhaps some of my pictures of RM169 could go into a supplementary follow-up article one day . . .?

Moving assistance
……..If anyone wants a price for moving a similar sized aircraft then the gent in the short sleeved shirt in the first pic…….
The gent in the blue sleeved shirt. I am the one in the red. I can testify that Keith is the man for this kind of thing. I only met him that day but without him the aircraft would still be in Sweden!!
On the other hand, can we allow the Brits to come and confiscate all aircrafts from Sweden??

Glad to see she is on her way back. If anyone wants a price for moving a similar sized aircraft then the gent in the short sleeved shirt in the first pic is a friend of mine and I will gladly put you in touch. He has moved both of Mike’s Proctors now and if Mike let him loose a second time he can’t be bad at the job.

Proctor RM169 sees daylight after many years in a Swedish barn
Pictures as she came out of the barn – my connection is that I discovered the aircraft and put the present owner in touch with the previous owner.
