Saw this Spitfire replica/FSM on the M62 this evening at about 6pm, heading west between Leeds and Bradford. It’s not one I’ve seen before, nor can I find any mention of it anywhere I’ve searched so far. Does anyone else know anything about it?

I saw it about a fortnight ago in a laybye on the A57 at worksop heading north. Wonder where it’s been and where it’s going?

I think I can put you all out of your misery.
We have had in one of the Lytham St Annes replica spitfires for major surgery and whilst it has been with us they have been using one of the other machines available to them.Their main display machine is now back in service the other one has gone back doing other work including some film stuff down in Southern climes !!!

Replica Spitfire marked ‘EB-K’, so presumably this one, seen on the A1(M) heading south at Stevenage around 10.30am today. It seems to lead a nomadic existence…
Thanks to Phantom Phil for the link to this thread, the new thread I started on this now deleted.

Spitfire X4178 EB-K
On October 15th, 1940 Sergeant D.P. Lloyd was shot down by Bf109 and crashed off North Foreland. Sadly Sgt Lloyd did not survive.

On the other forum linked, it’s given as X4178?

Well, it’s 41Sqn so that could be a clue 😉
