Lanc slow running question

I’m stuck…….. Can anyone bring me up to speed on Lancaster slow running cut out switches? What are they used for and were all marks of Lancaster fitted with them?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, next question. Do we think that a late war MK1 instrument panel would have been built with the cut out for the switches blanked off or left plain?

Only for IIIs and Xs (Not Is and IIs) – fitted with Packard Merlin engines with Stromberg Carbs.

I think the switches operated a fuel cutoff on the carburettors via a pneumatic ram.
