Actually it does have Power Assisted Steering, quite an early example of it on combat jets!:)

And there was me thinking what does a Sea Vixen need “Power Assisted Steering for?”

Pilot Attack Sight, it was the step between gunsights and Head Up Display units (HUD).
It used electronic inputs from the radar and other instrumentation.

It is Sea Vixen! I’m only looking at pics at the mo, and only just seen one showing the aft side of it and it has the same sliding sleeve assembly. I think it is to range the PAS, but I will check pilots notes.

Just had a look at my Sea Vixen port throttle grip and it is very similar (but not exactly the same) to that, even down to the square profile end.

Yes that was the beginning of HOTAS. Nowadays you can hardly see the throttle or stick top for knobs, buttons and switches.

The last item does look a bit like a post-war throttle grip. Are there any switches on it, ie for airbrake or R/T?
The first one looks like the armament control panel for a Canberra.
Undercarriage switch looks nice!

Edit, just a thought, don’t some throttle grips incorporate sighting controls for gunsights/PAS?
