Just a couple of photos of the replicas on the ‘First Light’ film set this week.
Was on set and in the pub with Graham Adlam (and Darren! (“Quick….run !!…..:eek:”)).
Our Spitfires are being used in the story of Geoffrey Wellum.

Is the Buchon going to be used at all? It would be a crime if not!

In answer to trumper….
My guess is models/mock-ups and blue/green screen. Wouldn’t be too difficult. I mean, look at the cockpit footage shot for Dark Blue World – fantastic, yet done mostly on the back of a lorry with just a cockpit rig and a camera!
I’m trying to find the photos of this, but I’m failing miserably….!

I wonder how they will film the bit where he goes up to find a bomber and then gets fogged in,that is one of the best bits of the book, makes the heart skip a beat or more.
Be interesting to see how close they stick to the book.
Most of the book is not about the flying as such so i suspect the flying sequences will be kept to a minimum,it’ll be a ground based biopic i would think.

The possibility of a BBC production was mentioned a while back…..

Graham doing a touch and go
Not sure if the elevator is in the correct landing attitude. (Perhaps the experts can confirm) At least he has the canopy open to get out quick when he noses it in.

I know three of those in the photograph – I was approached as well, and was told they were going to ‘get back to me’ about dates…. still haven’t heard anything!
Join the club!

I know,I was being sarky, I only live 10miles from the place…. more is made of his association with the drome than the unit that was stationed there, 51 OTU
for which there is no proper ‘unit’ memorial.
Did anyone get a pic of the spit on the fryin pan dispersal?
