Hi All,
I wondered if anybody had clear photos or GA drawings etc of the Spitfire Mk I and Mk II Landing Light lowering and beam dipping (electrical/pneumatic/Hydraulic) control?
I am looking at adding it to my panel.
cheers in advance
(BTW, I have the one in the MkII Pilot’s notes and Mk I Pilot’s notes, as well as the drawing in “In the Cockpit’ )

Very nice! Two flap levers out of one Spitfire, We’ll be finding two sticks on a Stuka next. My camera and your shed need to meet up.

Just dug this out of the shed recovered from a MK2a Spitfire, hope this helps

Thanks Bruce
You’ve confirmed everything I thought…now I just have to hope someone will come up with a clear photo of an original unit.

I believe the lever operates a bowden cable to perform the ‘dipping’.

Thanks Bruce,
Yes, it seems to be (or maybe the “shank” is a little shorter). I need the details for the other parts of the system as well. I have conflicting references on whether it was a sealed unit or a dipping switch next to a “flap type” box

The actual control is identical to the Flap switch.
