Sea Hawk question

Something that has been bugging me for ages:p
What’s with the hole in the nose? Towing attachment for use as a glider?:diablo:

What’s with the hole in the nose? Towing attachment for use as a glider?

To me, the Sea Hawk’s lines always seemed more like a sailplane’s than a fighter’s.

Done some reading and is the intercooler airduct, that if needed could be tapped for ram air ventilation if needed.

it could be the same layout as the harrier in that engine air is used for pressurisation but in the case of fumes in the cockpit, a RAM air valve can be selected open and it is this that this duct supplies

Air intake for cabin pressurization etc as far as I am aware 🙂
