Following on from the mention of the original “Black Saint” Jaguar (XX116) in the Elgin Scrapyard thread, I thought some forumites might like to know that XX965 at Cranwell has recently been re-sprayed in the full “Black Saint” livery. She’s kept in taxiiable condition as a training aid for trainee engineering officers, and she looks the business.
Posted as a seperate thread to save hijacking the Elgin one!

Very nice, but what about the original (ish). The famous 16 Sqn ‘Black Bucc’ at Laarbruch in 1993. It lasted about 2 days until a ‘Big Hat’ at Rheindhalen saw it flying over. It was hand painted by the aircrew and liney’s.

Here’s the original at Biggin c.1993 (scan from transparency, complete with hairs and dust spots, I really must learn to Photoshop).

Fantastic contrast between the yellow and the black, looks like a stunner, shame it’s only taxiing condition though

She actually looks better than the Black Bomber IMHO.
Far better in gloss !
