RAF Mustang?

With the various rebuilds of USAAF Mustangs from crash sites -what are the chances of an RAF example (razorback) being recovered in the foreseeable future from somewhere like a Norwegian fiord??

Craig Charleston did find some substantial RAF Mustang bits some years ago IIRC, and sent it to the USA. Now flying I think.

Don’t think it is Flying.. It was FB206

Note parts of FB206 are in a flying example

well i know of a p-51c on a hill side that is reasonable amount of wreckage, im planning to visit it to look into if its worth recovering or not, however i have no idea who the land belongs to (its not private i dont think) and even if by some mirical i found out who it belongs to and got permission to recover it i have little idea on how to ask the mod for permission to recover it, oh well it will be fun just having a look anyway! and we are all intiled to our dreams!!

I certainly would like to see an RAF Mustang – preferably based in the UK…

Not quite, the oldest surviving Mustang XP-51 41-038 was allocated to the RAF and given serial AG348 but she was kept back for evaluation so you could say a RAF mustang still survives just one that did not see service or never flew in RAF colours.

Not quite life the universe and everything though.

I thought one of the preserved razorback mustangs was an either an ex RAF machine or was supposed to be not sure which one though?
