Gannet XG882

Are there any plans afoot to preserve this airframe, she looks in a really bad way and the last I had heard, the airfield that she is situated on is up for development 🙁

Ugly, its as good looking as I am, ok I get your point!
I’m pretty sure that it was internally fairly bereft when I saw it at Lossie.

Just a thought, would any of the instruments have been ‘hot’ when these pesky vandals smashed them up??

but the front prop appears to have been removed properly, its not a 5 minute job

….so it was you Pagen01!!

I suspect it will wend it’s way down to St Athan, bit by bit as soon as you borrow the appropiate trailer……………:diablo:.

I’m sure I’ve read that vandals were responsible for the damage, but the front prop appears to have been removed properly, its not a 5 minute job

Wonder why her prop was removed and dumped in front of her?

….or the cockpits’ glazing smashed, or the wheel doors removed,or the aileron linkages severed? Don’t think the owner had anything to do with any of this : as I indicated, there’s no security round the aircraft, any opportunist scrappy and his mate could have a go at removing the prop with a sledgehammer and a crowbar or two. Pity the sods weren’t pinned to the deck under it in the attempt. 😡

The front spinner has been clearly removed with the prop

The spinner is still on the foward prop? surly you would not put it back on after you remove the prop, then turn it upside down?? My theory is it wasn’t nutted on!! I hope it did’nt crown anybody when they were swinging on it………………or maybe I do…………..

I’m guessing only the owner can tell you, but a propellor is quite a nice gizzit for anyone!

It was the Lossie gate guard for a while, fitted with a non standard AEW prop and spinner set.
