The Mike Twite Trophy

After Mike Twite was tragically killed in the crash of Varsity G-BDFT in August 1984, FlyPast instituted the Mike Twite Memorial Trophy which was to be awarded annually for excellence in the field of aircraft preservation in the UK. It was first won in 1986 to the Sally B team after a vote by FlyPast readers. Is this trophy still in existence ?

NAM also won it IIRC for the construction of Display Hangar 1 in 1989 / 90 – I seem to remember that the Trophy was presented to the NAM Chairman by Mike’s wife, in front of the RAFM Oxford, which was on loan at the time! 🙂
