I am currently restoring a Chipmunk (WB556) to static display condition. I’m aiming to display it at my local British Legion for a fund-raising event in November. I’m still looking for the following parts:
-Starboard Wing
-Both Main Wheels
-Tail Wheel
-Wing Route Fairings
-Tail Fairings
-Windscreen
-Port Side Observers Window (bubble)
-Port Side Escape Window
-Trim Wheels
-Both Joy Sticks
-Engine Under Cowling
Condition is not important. Any leads on parts for sale or trade would be most appreciated.

Yep, definately! I sorted all the spares a while ago unless NEAM has done a deal with someone else and unloaded them… The last time I had seen them was in the romney behind the Sea Venom!

i thought we only had one set?as far as im aware, our Chipmunk is to be under restoration very soon

Several years ago I saw a load of aircraft parts including what looked like a Chipmunk wing on a lorry. From the route it appeared to be going to Hanningfield Metals – a bit of a long shot but could be worth a try if all else fails.

There’re some parts starting to appear on the Aeroboot stallholder listings on the News Page of the museum website.
Plus I’m not sure of the Chipmunk parts availability from NAM – it might be worth an email request! 😉
