Droylsden where are they now ???

I remember many years ago 1970’s walking accross a field near Droylsden greater manchester and heading for an old Mill chimney that just appeared to stick up out of nothing.I was following rumours of old scrap aircraft I crested the brow and first sight was a pond full (or it appeared so ) of mk1 Shackleton nose sections. I was obviously not the first and was met by a grumpy old man with a dog who was sort of watchman. The place was an aviation aladins cave either side of the gate way were aircraft as I recal there was at least Two Supermarine Swifts one being a record breaker,a Bristol Brigand and a load of Baliols and a couple of Fireflys and lots of other bits and pieces of aircraft. It was the early days of BAPC and there was great debate I recall about groups trying to recover and save the aircraft. The owner was in fact a lady who had taken over the scrap company and further up the road in the back of Droylsden town centre there was another old mill not so visibile not so accesible and it was difficult to find out precisely what was there. I recall that eventualy some aircraft got saved but that there was great debate over some very strange conditions that the scrap people tried to impose one of them I think was that they kept ownership.
I know about a couple of the aircraft but not long afterwards went working in warmer climates and lost track. What ever happened and does anyone know where are they now ?. I would love to see some photo’s if anyone has any the view of the pond in front of the yard with Shackleton noses sticking out (3 or 4 at least)was something to see.

A gentleman and a scholar I knew someone must have the leads to pictures.
Shame none of the pond at the front with the nose sections in. I know a lot of stuff departed to various places the other mill was at the back of Droylsden town centre abot 1/4 mile from where I moved to even tryin gto shimmy up the wall or limbo under the gate did not help to try and see what was in.
Long time ago but I think the lady was actualy called Miss Daniels and I do recall that some deals where done but some really strange conditions including even though you spend a fortune and restore the aircraft it was never yours.
I can confirm the Manchester Air and space museum aircraft was Colin Waterworths.

I dont recal seeing Hornet stuff so perhaps it had gone by the time I went there. But that view as you crested the hill of the pond in front full of early shackleton nose sections.
