Aircraft & Airline ID Request

Could anyone tell me the aircraft and airline in this picture please? I am guessing it might be a Stratocruiser.
The photo was taken by my father. I don’t know who the lady is but it isn’t my mother!

I’m impressed by the size of those props, where does the open door by the hostess lead too? I know the aircraft had a lower deck, by chance was this the entrance for the embarking passengers.

On the subject of the Stratocrusier has any one got any photos of the interior? By all accounts it was quite a impressive and decadent inside, I guess it’s a bit similar to how to how the modern Airbus A380 was first marketed but never in fact came to be.

Very helpful thank you both. The photo must have been taken in 1949 as he was working in Nigeria by 1950. It also makes the airport Shannon. The lady must have been an Air Hostess.

American Overseas Airlines, must be 1949 or early 1950 as they were all transferred to Pan Am in Sept 1950 so only saw less than a years use with AOA.
