hi everyone
Tiger Moth 4197
This was the reg of the first plane my dad ever flew on April 5th 1943, where could i poss try and find a pic lol, bet you lot are getting fed up with me, but this is alll so exciting, looking into dads flying history

I think this really needs to be done, ther is too much history to go to waste, but there is so much of it thats the problem

yeah i know, i think myself and my husband are gonna have to get on a mission between us and will ask my brother as he is a pilot so he may have some ideas as to how to do it all…….. I am really hooked on this now lol, I have found some intersting stuff on honours lists sheets from flight magazine featuring dads name when he got a few medals and the AFC, i think thats was something to do with him landing a plane with no nose wheel in 1959 but need to look into this further as well.

It would be so great if could compile pics of some of the planes dad flew, ther are so many it would take years tho Am working through 6 flying logbooks… i may be sometime lol

yeah he was Canadian and trained there before coming over to the UK to be based here.

Did your father do his training in Canada, one possibility for the Tiger in question is a Canadian built DH82c these stayed in Canada as part of the Empire Trianing Air Training Scheme producing pilots for the RAF
