I was wondering if anybody might have any information on the loss of Canverra WJ770.
Would a report have been completed by the RAF/MOD, and if so would this be open to the public yet?
Any help would be great,
Johnnie

Many thanks for the replies with this one. I’ll follow up the RAF Museum lead, and try the National Archives next time I’m there.
I’ve been trying to find out more about Cryer who was killed in the crash. I have a copy of his log book which covers May 1963 to the end of July 1966 when he was with various units training before moving to 32 Squadron in March 1965.
I’ll try the Squadron Association to see if they have anything as it would be nice to try and find out when he changed Squadrons as the copy of the log I have ends in July/August 1966 and at that point he is still with 32 Squadron.

Accident Summary
The RAF Museum have a summary of the accident (I had it out myself a while ago) but I doubt that the full Board of Enquiry remains. With the type now out of service and the MODs major clearout before Freedom of Information Act, the chance of a copy surviving is slim.
I suspect the only place will be the NA.
Is there a specific aspect of the accident to this aircraft that you are interested in? You could always approach the Sqn Association for help or personal recollections.

Go to RAF Museum website; click “Research”; click “Enquiry”,

All I have is:
Two aircraft in formation in fog. Lead aircraft turned to follow slope of hill. Second aircraft delayed turn and crashed into hills at Sinopoli, Calabria, Italy. Three killed.
You could probably get a (possibly short) summary of the accident from the “Quarterly Review of Aircraft Accidents” at the PRO. Based on the date (March 1968) you might try AIR 8/2536-2537. (Note that the dates in the catalogue are a bit off).
Don’t know about RAFM or AHB

Many thanks for that. I also have the details from Lost to Service.
If a report did survive at the PRo could anybody sugggest which group it would be under? AVIA 5?
If I am to try the RAF museum which code should I use as in the past I have only looked at Second World War losses.

A quick Google found this, http://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/wiki.php?id=21124
There would have been a report done, and should be accessible, maybe with TNA or RAFM archives.
