Don’t know where you live in the Netherlands, but from Utrecht it is at max. a 4 hour drive. It is a little further than Calais.
So it is possible to do it on a one day trip.
Well i know that… (im from the same area ;))… but i intend to bring my Girlfriend aswell.. so little bit of romance wouldn’t harm right ;)….

Take note 5€ and wonder why in the UK it’s always so much dearer.

I would strongly recommend staying locally and arriving early on show day, unless you like a very early start, because, as someone else pointed out, access is on country roads and parking is somewhere in the vicinity from which shuttle buses will ferry visitors to and fro.

Is there an exact location where this event will be held? Seriously concidering to make a drive from The Netherlands and then book a hotel

This link illustrates the location between Wissant and Audembert.

If you click on Historique and scroll down the photos to the last one that shows overlays of the 850m grass strip across a couple of fields. It also shows the layout of the exhibits divided into Luftwaffe, RAF and USAF. Shuttle buses will ferry visitors from the car park to the display area.
Let me know if you need any further clarification.
Thanks, and no I don’t. Steve already notified me that it would be a temporary strip which was why google maps was showing me nothing. That last overlay image is useful as a visual reference though.

Interesting to see the aerial views and ground comparisions showing what is left at this original air field. I sense an early morning start will be needed for those going by road because access will be by country lanes. Hope all turns out well for the show, a great idea.

What do you mean by un relaition to the old airfield, I can’t spot a new or old one anywhere, even on Google maps. Where are the aircraft going to be flying from, Abbeville possibly?

I believe its going to be a temporary strip just for the show weekend so you wont see much on Google Earth.
Ahh there we go, thanks Steve. Pegs should handle that nicely;) Just need to persuade either of my parents to take me now:rolleyes:
Cheers, Huw

On the website click on Information Visiteurs and there is a series of photos and a map showing the location in relation to the old airfield very clearly. If you are still having problems I’ll link you to a Google map.

Well i guess so… but for the people that doesn’t speak or read french it’s a big chunk to figure out where it is :)… i gues it’s between Audembert and Wissant… But that’s quite a big place 😉
Any more specific details would be nice 🙂
I can’t seem to track down an airfield in that vicinity, or a current one at least?

I’d be there in a shot if it didn’t clash with the Goodwood Revival. Looks like a cracker in the making.

Wow! What a line up! I have put this one on my list! Thanks for the link!:)

This looks like terrific value for money and rather shames some events in the UK. And it’s 20 mins from my house, so that weekend is booked!
By: Blue_2 - 10th March 2010 at 07:33
Wow looks like a good line-up. And bl**dy cheap compared to what I’m used to having lifted out of my wallet at shows over here 😡
