Sqn Ldr DG 'Furz' Lloyd RIP

at the Lightning Pilots website that Sqn Ldr DG ‘Furz’ Lloyd passed away yesterday, 18th Feb. 🙁

Furz was a true legend of the Lightning, and took over 5 Sqn at the end of Lightning ops after Andy Williams left. Furz flew the red tailed ‘770 for the final 5 Sqn Lightning sortie IIRC, in late 1987 and which may have been his final Lightning flight too. I got to know him in the early days of the Lighting Association, and he ‘put up’ with us ‘non-pilot, non-service’ enthusiast types with much warmth…….a true gent.
