19th Feb – 100th anniversary of Bristol aviation

Friday sees the 100th anniversary of the formation of the British and Colonial Aeroplane Company, forerunner of the Bristol Aeroplane Company, and its successors. Hopefully there will some local news coverage to keep an eye out for. There is a ceremony at Filton in the morning, where an Easyjet Airbus will be named after Sir George White, who founded the company. I don’t think there is much planned in terms of Bristol or Bristol-powered aircraft.
