Hi
pity, a lost opportunity ? it seems to have been only for the swordfish crews, other aircrew were also were lost.
But still good a memorial was done.
cheers

I’m a little confused by this, I live in the Ramsgate area and had know idea about this, Last i heard it was being considered to buid a memorial. I realise I havn’t seen the local press the last few weeks, but usually if there is anything aviation related a friend or family member will inform me. I am really dissapointed it was not publicized more, especially considering the flypast. But again i spent all day in Ramsgate, in a position where i can hear anything going on on at the harbour and noted no aircraft movements, can anyone confirm the flypast took place, the weather was pretty awful and visibility was bad. Any pics if it did?

BBC reported ’18 pilots who took off from Manston in six Swordfish torpedo bombers’…………….must have been heavy on the controls.

Apperently i was told there was a ceremony, but no one knew anything of a fly past, anyone have any confirmation of any other aircraft other than the lynx?
