Observer's Brevet.

I know this has been discussed here before but I can’t find the thread. I would appreciate it if anyone can give a definitive date for the cessation of the award of the Observer brevet.

Adopted 23 August 1915, declared obsolete September 1942 although some continued to be awarded on graduation to LACs successfully completing courses in navigation in the USA until well into 1943.

Originally adopted in 1915 by the RFC, its use was continued by the RAF until superseded by the Navigators’ and Air Bombers’ badges in 1942
