Woodford 1968

Some photos from the Woodford Air Display 29 June 1968. Most of my photos were lost due to light getting to the film during processing. Also attached is my log for the day – any additions/corrections welcomed!

Looks like a second HS.748/Andover in a civil scheme.

NB: SHACKLETON IDENTITIES NOT CONFIRMED.

Now, I’m not saying it isn’t but…. My Dad was flew in XF730 on the 23rd June & again on the 2nd Of July with 42sqn at St Mawgan, XF730 may have been there for the display but not sure about having Mods done as usualy the aircraft spent a few weeks there having mods carried out, obviously this would depend on what was being modded.
Interesting to note, he logged a ferry trip in XF730 from Biteswell to St Mawgan on the 2nd of July 1969

Jim has re-confirmed that XS186 was indeed at Woodford that year, but was in company with the Macaws (perhaps as a spare aircraft in the active park if the team landed there, as up to now we know she was never painted in Macaws colours…… or was she ………)
