Quite right too. Pete is a top bloke but in recent years he has been displaying an awful lot – for example 150hrs on the Hurri according to the sales link is a huge amount. His favourite has always been the P-51 and the MKXI is unique both because of its history and the fact it flies with its original wartime engine, a fact that he is very proud of I know. He’s had fun with both and I know he won’t mind me saying (cos I’ve told him!) that IMHO his best displays are in the P-40 :)- he flies the damn thing like its on rails! He is very excited about the new Spit as again it will be unique in its Russian markings.

Fact is you can only fly one at a time and his season is bonkers busy – on top of that he is a businessman and family man so I’m glad he is dialling it back a bit!

Pegs has always been my favourite but from what I understand all Hurricanes are heavy on maintenance and from an investment POV a Spit is always going to give you a better return – they’re just more desirable I guess.
