Draw an East/West line across the south coast of France and it could be anywhere south of theat. The RAF always seemed to be more willing to issue KD in the Med/Middle East than the Army. Poor old squaddies had to suffer Temperate climate uniforms. In Cyprus we were only issued No 6 dress for the visits of high ranking officers, all other posh dress jobs were in No 2 dress. If we wanted comfortable lightweight working dress we had to buy locally for ourselves.
