I’ve recently finished scanning some photographs I’ve taken on various trips to Germany over the years. Among them were a couple of visits to Frankfurt Airport, where there was an interesting collection of old airframes until a few years ago. I thought I would post them here. My first visit was on a rather dull day in March 1982, so the photos are a bit dark.
Do-27
DC-3
Ju-87. I think this was a replica.
Me-262 (another replica).
CASA 2.111
Me-163

I visited there once in the mid/late 1970s and remember also seeing a FW.44 Stieglitz which, if my memory serves me tolerably, belonged to the Lufthansa Flying Club. Would that have been D-EMIL?

I think the DC-3 and the CASA 352 are the ones which are now on display at the visitors centre at Munich airport, the former masquerading as a Swissair aircraft.

Made me feel old by classing the Do27 as old, as a kid I had a couple of trips in those when they were ‘current’ in the Nigerian Air Force! And in Do28s.
