WL405

It came very close to departing for NZ and restoration and preservation
permanently indoors, earlier this year.

Big smile?

Yes, wouldn’t you?!

Stacey24b, in answer to your earlier post: we have been offered external display space at Hooton for a Meteor and this will be reassembled by about spring 2010.

Colour scheme and markings will be silver in 610 (County of Chester)/611 (West Lancs) colours port/stbd as both squadrons flew Meteors from Hooton 60 years ago.

Mike’s new swing?

I love Jon’s pic of Mike playing on his new swing. Santa came early this year!!
But seriously, a great day out at Brunty, and always a pleasure to meet up with these guys. A job well done, with smiles all around, and sorted quickly as well.

Mind you, Jon didn’t look so happy when they drove off without him!! I guess Mike was in a hurry to get his new toy home, or was it something he said?

And Howard, speaking for the Leicester lads, we are always up for helping a good cause.

Merry Christmass to everyone out there in Aviation Preservation Land, and here’s to another great year in 2010.

In the spirit of Cockpit-Fest, Christmas etc I’ll guarantee to do half an hour ‘as a target’ if the other forumites do the same – any money raised to go to ‘Help for Heroes!’ 😀

Footnote: ONLY half an hour as a ‘target’ should be a breeze for me!!!

T.7

Don’t worry, you won’t have to, it’s not for sale! This is my Christmas present – from myself.

This one’s destined for Hooton Park and, yes, it’s WL405. Centre section and tail end to follow in the New Year.

A big thank-you to Ritch Blood for organising matters at Brunty, helping to load and, as ever, making us feel very welcome today.

Merry Christmas everyone.
