The RX registration is to be read RX-138.This aircraft was registered in Panama to a fake airline named LAPSA which was established for flying this aircraft (and many other ex US military transport aircraft)out of the USA in 1948.
They were bought by Israeli purchasing agents as military surplus in order to transfer them to the newly established Israeli Air Force.They were civilianized
and flown under LAPSA titles to Panama en-rout to Israel.

A long history which started with the USAF as 42-96540, continued on as 4X-ACT, 4X-ALC, OB-XYZ-931, N5141B, AN-AIR, N4198A and XB-JED. Recorded as scrapped presumably in Mexico. Could not locate any photos.:)
