I was recently given a 1:200 scale model of the Rotodyne. it was beautifully made and detailed, with a fuselage length of some 4 inches. I subsequently received a Sikorsky R-4 which was a little over one inch long.
They are part of a series of models known collectively as; ‘The one true scale’ produced and sold by a number of enthusiastic model-makers.
What is quite remarkable is the range of types available, aircraft such as; Hunting 126, Short Sherpa, Short SC-1, Pioneer …….
their website: http://www.the-one-true-scale.co.uk/index.htm
is worth a visit.
What would be interesting would be to see the entire range laid out on a table, it would in fact represent the largest/smallest museum in the world.
