I have a few photocopies taken from a book that I would very much like to identify. Sadly I have very little to go on except the subject matter and a chapter heading!
The original book could be a history of No.1 Group as the part chapter I have is titled “Conspicuous Gallantry” and starts on page 90. That following chapter is titled : The One……” – the rest is cut off!
I know this is a long shot but someone here “might” recognise it from their book shelf! I have tried a book search for 1 Group etc without any success.
I would appreciate any help offered.

Many thanks for the tip. I will certainly give this a try with future searches. I did not know that this feature was available. You can certainly learn something new every day!
A member of another Forum has been able to identify the book for me and hopefully I should be able to source a copy next week.

You could do a search using some exact sentecnes of the book; in google book search (advance search) sometimes it is all it takes.
As one of the concerned in the book was from the 550 squadron , perhaps you could contact the website:

Further to my earlier post.
The chapter titled “Conspicuous Gallantry” concerns details of the Conspicuous Gallantry Medals awarded to Arthur Harrington Jefferies of 550 Squadron and Jack Bettany of 625 Squadron.
The book contains two pictures of their respective crews on page 94.
