Here’s one for you. This was taken by me near Ephesus, Turkey, a couple of weeks ago on the edge of an airfield.

What is it? Anyone know its history?

Maybe the local health and safety departments in Turkey are even more zealous than those in the UK. Just imagine it………………….
I was in that part of Turkey a about 20 years ago, H&S is a no no , at least it was back then. Drivers “mates” jumping from bus to bus while we drove two abreast on the roads. To swap drivers the guy parked up, let the hand brake off, the bus rolled past he jumped in the back door, woke up his mate who ran to the front of the bus to jump in the drivers seat and take over. I also watched a guy on a building site (next door to the hotel !) build a ladder and hod out of bits of pallet and packing crate and use them to hike stuff up the very wobbly scaffholding.

Would’nt you need to be a bit higher to do para jumps:confused:

“You mean to say that you propose that your clients jump out of an aeroplane at a height of 2000 feet? Oh no, we can’t be having any of that. And I don’t care if they will be using a parachute. No, you just tell them to use that old AN-2 fuselage on the airfield. That’s much less dangerous. But make sure, mind you, that you put a mattress beneath the door beforehand. And thinking about it, you’d better remove the undercarriage, before they do so, so that it’s at a safer height. What’s that, you think that your clients might be a bit disappointed with that? But that’s not the point. They’re not there to enjoy themselves. They’re there to be safe. Oh and you’ll have to pay us for a full risk assessment before you start. Stick what where? Now don’t be like that, I’m only doing my job……………………”

The writing on the side of this plane advertises parachute jumping from this airfield so perhaps it was used for that purpose at some time.
