Yak 3D Questions.

To those who are true WWI fighter enthusiasts, i would like to ask their opinions on the real performances in combat of the Yak 3D as used by the Normandy Niemen Squadron.

Do you know the story? They apparently were given the choice between all allied types?

Wasn’t commonality of aircraft spares while on Russion soil one reason for choosing the Yaks? Apart from that it was a very good fighter too.
Interesting question.
