Cunliffe-Owen, Concordia,Lancasters and C-O employees

I have just received a couple of images from one of my website readers.
The pictures show firstly – a group of C-O employees stood in front of the nose
of one of the Concordias….and secondly – a memo awarding an employee £2/2/-
for a mod suggestion for Lanc doors.

The pictures have been posted on my website at the link below – can anyone
identify which aircraft, and name any of the employees?

I’d be inclined to agree – if you look at the side view of ‘KBE here the Mast antenna is quite clearly visible .

I would say the Concordia is Y-0222 as G-AKBE had a mast aerial and small blister just behind the cockpit on the side that we are viewing the picture. Also you can just make out two whip aerials that ‘222 definately had. Both wore identical schemes.

Nice pic, good to see some out of the norm CO pictures, it looks like there are some important people in that picture.
It’s a shame that the aircraft never made it into production, but I suppose it was just to expensive compared with all the demobbed Ansons about and too similar to Dove and Merganser/Prince.

The factory/office buildings and model are very interesting aswel.

Concordia

My mother worked at Cunliffe Owens during WW2 and I also have a picture of concordia with my father and other employees lined up against the fusleage, my poicture shows more of the aircraft than this one.

unfortunately I dont have this picture to hand but next time I am at my store I will try and retrieve it.
