Back in the mid 60`s Rollasons held a Midget racer design competition which was won by the Luton Beta, in amongst the top `runners up` were the Taylor Titch and the Corby Starlet. Does anyone have more information on the competition and the designs that were entered, i gather there were the other side of 100. Pictures of some of the planes would be great, although some of them have never been built i`m led to believe………Martin

The post-competition articles that ‘Flight’ published are all available to download through flightglobal.com in the archive section. The articles provide information about several of the aircraft entered and a cutaway or three-view drawing of each. Great aeroplane the Beta, but not particularly easy to build.
