In the latter stages of the air war over Europe, Luftwaffe fighter aircraft carried coulered bands on the rear fusalage. The bands ranged from plain black to red and blue, black yelow and black again, and meny other coulors and combinations. But not plain yellow or plain white, as thease coulors denoted the theater of operations, carried by all axis forces.Yellow on the eastern front.White in the meditarnian theater of ops.
Does eny one know if the “DEFENCE OF THE REICH” bands had eny meaning to the allocation of coulors?
