Early Radar Indicator – recognise it?

The garage clearout continues.

This early radar indicator unit has come to light. It was given to me over thirty years ago by an elderly chap who had obtained it for spares – hence a few missing knobs, etc.

The Air Ministry Stores Reference is 10QB/59, and it is a Unit, Indicating, Type 41.

I thought it might be something from the era of Mk IV Airborne Interception Radar but the numbers do not tie in with any I have seen in A.P.s

I will probably contact RAF Museum Hendon about this one as I have a feeling it’s a rare piece, but, before I do, I thought I’d offer it to the Forum in case we have any radar experts on board.

Stored alongside it was this Control Panel Type 9A, Air Min. Stores Ref. 5U/5085

This came from an entirely seperate source but I think it’s also wartime or early postwar equipment. Schematic diagrams of early radar equipment often show something like this, but nothing I have seen yet matches the Ref.

Anyone got any ideas? As always, all suggestions welcomed!
