Whilst working through some old flying boat photos recently, I got to wondering… Other than say the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum’s work on their flying replica ‘America’ (that I know of), is there much work currently being put into restorations/replicas of some of the early flying boats?
I’m looking at it along the lines of the HS-2Ls and Felixstowes, etc. Is it simply that the ‘general’ interest isn’t there, or would such work simply prove prohibitive due to financial constraints.
Thoughts, ideas, insight…?
