Help needed for identification of Hyd pump

Can anyone identify this Hydraulic pump?

It is made of aluminium,aprox 12″long ,6″ diameter & has the following markings,

Section 9A/1406 (9A ,Target towing equipment?)
Tested to 2000 psi
21/8/44

It also has a Vickers Armstrong inspection stamp!

Does anyone know what aircraft it may have been used on ?
