I’m building the Airfix 1:72nd Stirling and was wondering if anyone has photo’s of the following.
Detailed picture or tech diag of the most common turrets.
Colour pictures that show colouration of the exhaust collector rings.
Any colour pictures of the undersides especially the inside of bomb bays.
Colour pictures of the bomb trolleys, bomb winch gear and attachments, bombs and containers (incendiaries).
On a slightly different note I’ve been reading the book Stirling in combat by Jonathan Falconer (£10 at cheapo bookstores). It says the u/c was liable to collapse unexpectedly and shows images of static (not landing) Stirlings on their bellies. So was anyone hurt or killed while underneath these aircraft and did they collapse while being bombed up, or was some form of locking pin device used to prevent this.
